As I consider the evolution of my work, I started with the basics as a super-realist, representational artist and evolved into mixed media. Now, I am working with abstract painting. In all these areas I have tried to find the meaning of things in life, and work it out in my art. Abstract painting, for me, is an intuitive process. The challenge is to consider form, composition and color together to create a meaningful narrative. My work involves symbols within each piece with the push and pull of colors reacting to each other on the picture plane. The combination relates to my response to personal as well as world issues, such as family, public policy and the environment. My wish is for the viewers to respond personally to my abstracts and the narratives therein, which are a part of everyone.
