Sana Doumet

I graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts. Before creating jewelry, my main focus was on sculpture – the reason I went to Perugia in Italy to study at the Escuela De Bella Arte. Back in Boston, I discovered jewelry and my ability to express and transform my love for sculpture through metal on a much smaller scale, making it much easier for me to carry my work around from place to place. My jewelry is designed and hand made by me using a variety of fabricating techniques such as forging, hammering and construction in combinations of sterling silver, 22kt gold, 18kt gold and, depending on the design, diamonds, semi-precious stones and pearls. My inspiration is the beauty that exists everywhere, in the past, present and the future. My aim is to echo back to the wearer the feeling of love I put into every piece I create.

After graduating from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, I studied sculpture at the "Escuela De Bella Arte" in Perugia, Italy. It was on returning to Boston that I discovered what has enabled me to express and transform my love for sculpture through metal – jewelry. My jewelry is fabricated using the techniques of forging, hammering, soldering and construction. My work is a contemporary combination of sterling silver, 18k gold, bimetal, diamonds and semi precious stones. My love for the medium allows me to overcome the stiffness of metal and to explore its softness, texture, and motion. I have been fortunate to be exposed to South American and Middle Eastern cultures – the magic of both has had a direct influence on my work. My aim is to echo back to the wearer the feeling of love I put into every piece I create, and to have people feel the excitement and joy of having discovered the art of jewelry.
