Richard Currier

l am a resident and native of Florida having graduated the Ringling School of Art and Design in 1981. I currently live in Micco on Florida's central east coast. My paintings are immersed in the subtropical inland and coastal influences, having spent the majority of my life in its environment. I try to convey the substance and spacial qualities of light and space that I find in the most dramatic circumstances. in the subtropical storms we experience, other times in the calm and solitude of the inland wetlands. I focus more on painting the spaces between the elements of the landscape or ocean rather than objective realities.
