Mike Sluder

Mike Sluder is a metal artist celebrated for his transformative work with both bronze and copper. With a BFA from East Carolina University (2006), he launched his career managing the metal shop and patina department at some of the nation's top fine art bronze foundries. This experience refined his mastery of casting and patina techniques, laying the groundwork for his transition to a full-time independent artist. Mike's work explores the dynamic tension between the strength of metal and the fluidity of the natural world. By balancing precise design with spontaneous elements in casting and patina, his pieces achieve a compelling interplay of form and function. His bronze vessels and copper wall hangings marry visionary craftsmanship with enduring materials, attracting high-profile commissions from clients like The Ritz-Carlton, Hilton, and ESPN. His work has been showcased in prestigious exhibitions, including at the Museum of Design Atlanta. Now based near Atlanta, Mike continues to create custom pieces for collectors and corporate clients, pushing the boundaries of metal art with every new project.
