I want my work to convey a thoughtful intuitive balance between color, texture and tactile rhythms. My intent is to invite the viewer to look closer and be transported into layers of unexpected assembled repetitions of organic shapes, collaborating together in an essence of marine flow. My monoprints are created using collagraph plates and various materials. The collagraph plates are constructed with modeling paste, string, palm hair, fabric, paper, wallpaper, wood, gloss medium and gel medium. I use the collagraph plate as a background or to transfer images and textures to cut shapes of paper. I combine them with the different inked materials. These are arranged and printed in multiple layers on 100% cotton handmade archival paper. The resulting original image is the only one of its kind and cannot be reproduced.
