Mark Gardner

I make both decorative and functional bowls for use and display from native North Carolina hardwoods. I have been working with wood since I was a teenager and was introduced to the craft by my father who was a hobbyist woodworker. My work can be found at craft fairs and galleries around the county as well as in the public collections of several museums including the Museum of Art & Design in New York, the Yale Art Gallery, and the Minneapolis Institute of Art. In addition to working in my studio making bowls I travel the country teaching woodturning at various craft schools, such as Arrowmont School of Arts and Craft and the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship.
