Margaret Baker

Working with oil paint on canvas, I paint people and memories. I refer to the images I paint as moments-in-between, those mundane moments that seem to take on significance and prompt feelings and stories when they are remembered. References for my paintings come from vernacular photographs from my own family and those I collect. I love the idea of forgotten, thrown away moments becoming oil paintings that live on and continue telling stories.
