Lauran Sundin

Lauran's work is based on a reverence for the fine handcrafted techniques which have been handed down for generations throughout the world. Following Asian textile study at the University of Hawaii, as well as traditional overshot weaving with indigenous Indians in Guatemala, Lauran investigated modern weaving interpretations in Denmark. She enjoys the challenge of employing very traditional weaving techniques to fashion flowing contemporary pieces of sculptural jewelry. Lauran says: "It is the fineness of the weaving which I want to be the feature of my pieces, with the bold structural support bringing it all together." Photo by Robert Diamante
