Kim Koch

I build my pieces in gold using the old-world crafting techniques of fabrication, raising, forging, wax carving and casting. I often incorporate natural gems as my color palate, and utilize subtle finishes to further enhance the beauty of metal to define my shapes. My craftsmanship is a process; over three decades of working metals to fulfill my artist mission, while keeping sight of the enjoyment jewelry brings us. Kim Koch is a 1977 University of Wisconsin Stevens Point graduate. He is recognized nationally for innovative award winning design and superior craftsmanship. In order to maintain the highest standards, he personally designs and creates each piece. His techniques include: casting, forging, fabrication, and multiple surface treatments, often all utilized in a single piece. He specializes in rare, color gemstones set in gold and platinum. “I incorporate a minimal design philosophy…nothing in excess…only elements necessary to maintain the concept. “ Some of his prestigious awards include three-time winner of Wisconsin Jewelers Association, AGTA Spectrum, Signity, and The Niche Award.
