Jessica Stoddart Ladd

Jessica is a second generation artist who grew up on a rural farm in Middle, Tennessee, in a rustic house predating the civil war. Attending college on an art scholarship Jessica focused on sculpture and painting. While living in Asheville, North Carolina, Jessica began refining her individual skills and focused on her oil paintings. During this same period she honed her sculpture skills by designing her signature metal frames. Her paintings are rich in color & minimalism. The anonymity of familiar subjects encites the viewer to imagine their own narrative while her frames compliment her subjects. This series focuses on evoking minimalist and ironic representations of nostalgia, including architectural, anonymous figure subjects as well as commonplace objects. Jessica currently resides in Cookeville, Tennessee, with her husband, Jon, and daughter, Elin. Jessica makes a living showing her paintings at distinguished art fairs across the country.
