My work is created with mineral stones, delica seed beads, and found and recycled objects. The "stones" that drive my work are things that can be found on the ground or in the kitchen junk drawer. These found materials can be anything from seeds, shells, fragments of found plastic, dryer lint, and even those squishy rubber grapes from "Aunt Edna". Monochromatic colors, diverse surface textures, and repetition are commonly used to create a graceful and soothing unity among varying objects. Using these random ordinary objects I encourage the viewer to reconsider their opinion of the mundane. Which material is more beautiful ... a semi-precious opal or the rubber grapes?
