Gruchalla & Rosetti

We create contemporary "American" RAKU, consisting of wheel thrown and hand built clay vessels and tiles. Surfaces are burnished and often carved to create textures as well as landscape-like designs. We are a husband/wife collaboration and often pass a single piece of pottery back and forth several times before it is completed. Details in the creation of each piece and finehand glazing as well as air brush techniques are important in our work. Richard creates and carves the wet clay and Carrin takes over in the area of glazing. Final embellishments include copper wire and wooden pegs.
