Edie Showalter Fagan

Winter Park native, Edie Showalter Fagan's watercolors are painted in a loose, spontaneous manner. She enjoys painting landscapes, still life and figures, and is well known for her dog portraits. She holds a degree in Art from Queens University in Charlotte and has studied watercolor with nationally and internationally known artists. TheN ational Watercolor Society and the Florida Watercolor Society have honored her with signature memberships. "My goal is to interest the viewer in lingering awhile to enjoy the choices I 've made in value, color, hard and soft edges, negative and positive shapes and the play of light. Sometimes it's more about what I've omitted than included. It's much like the rhythm of song, poetry, prose or dance - each artist makes choices that give her work a personal voice."
