After working in water-media for over fifteen years, I'm still fascinated by puddles of shimmering paint on paper and as eager as ever to start each day in the studio. Watercolor remains my primary medium but I've been gradually devoting more time to casein over the last three years. My subjects tend to be structural with an emphasis on strong design. In my mechanical pieces, I enjoy the fact that all the parts have a purpose and do their job – hoses winding to their destination, bolts tightened securely, and engines ready to crank. Selfishly speaking, it is a secure place to spend the day, painting my way through the light and shadow patterns of a tractor engine.
