Claire Goodowens

Born and raised in Winter Park, Claire has grown up looking forward to spring and the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival. She received her first camera at the age of 4 and has spent the past 6 years exploring ways for photography to combine her two passions: nature and mathematics. Over the past 2 years Claire has been enamored with macro photography and it’s ability to expose the complexities in the living world that are typically unseen. Driven by the joy she experiences when she uncovers the visual mysteries of the wild, Claire is rarely seen without her camera. She hopes that her art will engross you in her subjects, inviting you to see them as so much more than “bugs”. If you are compelled to see the beauty in even the most insignificant insect, you are more apt to see the beauty in all things. Claire hopes to inspire other children to follow their passions by being honored as an Emerging Artist at such a young age. She is humbled by being chosen to participate in the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival and is grateful 14 for the opportunity to share her vision on this national stage.
