Brenna Klassen-Glanzer

I'm a second generation silversmith, born and raised in Minneapolis. I've always loved making things by hand and began designing jewelry with my parents. With their guidance and my experimentation I developed a natural, contemporary style. To achieve voluminous, lightweight contemporary jewelry, I saw, hammer, fold, solder, texture, and bend sheet silver and copper with fold forming and hollow-form construction techniques, and create organic natural forms with a contemporary feel. I strive to give each piece an untamed, elegant quality.

Fabricating contemporary jewelry from sheet silver and copper, I draw much of my inspiration from the natural forms of seeds, pods, coral and shells. My work incorporates a variety of textures and metals, and the use of fold forming and hollow form construction techniques. My jewelry is a mixture organic natural forms and modern design. Each piece has an untamed yet elegant quality. To achieve my forms, I saw, hammer, fold, solder, texture, and bend pieces I make from sheet silver and copper, incorporating silver wire, tube and bezel when needed. I strive to make voluminous, light-weight contemporary jewelry.
