A glimpse of Heaven. Thirty-three years ago I chanced upon a remote Amish valley nestled in the Appalachian mountains of Central Pennsylvannia.. It has token me years 10 cultivate tbe trust and friendship of certain Amish families and I consider myself fortunate to have been granted such access to a very private people. The timelessness of this valley is what I set out to capture on film decades ago: how over the centuries the landscape has been shaped by this society, and in turn how this society has been shaped by tbeir land. By our standards nothing seems to change in this valley, until you begin to observe the subtle changes of light, and the not so subtle changes of the seasons, and the growth of the children.
