Although I began my graduate studies as an oil painter, I find real joy in watercolor. It has such simplicity. I feel at home with it. I am continually surprised by its diverse capacities. Aletha earned her MFA from Bowling Green State University and taught studio art courses at several universities in Indiana and Ohio, including the Toledo Museum of Art School of Design. She now paints fulltime – watercolor has been her dominant medium for the past thirty years. A member of the Watercolor USA Honor Society and the National Watercolor Society, she shows her paintings at numerous national exhibitions across the country.
