Alberto Chailosky

Alberto Chailosky was born in Cuba in 1969 and emigrated to NYC at age 3. As a child, Alberto was taken by the graffitied trains and urban landscape of the city, both of which he credits as some of his earliest inspirations. He moved to Miami a few years later and immediately immersed himself in the arts. After graduating from RISD and NYU, Alberto was once again living in NYC, but this time as a professional artist. He worked as a set designer on Broadway and Saturday Night Live throughout the ‘90s, all while creating and selling miniature art inspired by NYC and Miami architecture. Through this collection of detail-packed miniatures, he memorializes the landmark establishments of his youth that no longer exist. Either gentrified or abandoned, these buildings meant a great deal to him and many others; it is through his artwork their memories live on.
