Bigger World

Posted in David | 1 Comment »

Hi David:

You said in counseling that you wanted to live in a “…bigger world.” Correct my memory…I remember “…cooking dinner, gardening, working on the computer, things around the house…living in a bigger world.” This sounded positive to me…was it? When you said it, it didn’t sound separate, even when I could imagine that some of the “bigger world” activities at times would be. So, am I off base, on target? Tell me in the post, or in person.

Jen

Flash of Genius

Posted in David | 3 Comments »

This is the movie staring Greg Kinnear.

Synopsis: Based on the true story of college professor and part-time inventor Robert Kearns’ long battle with the U.S. automobile industry, Flash of Genius tells the tale of one man whose fight to receive recognition for his ingenuity would come at a heavy price. But this determined engineer refused to be silenced, and he took on the corporate titans in a battle that nobody thought he could win. The Kearns were a typical 1960s Detroit family, trying to live their version of the American Dream. Local university professor Bob married teacher Phyllis and, by their mid-thirties, had six kids who brought them a hectic but satisfying Midwestern existence. When Bob invents a device that would eventually be used by every car in the world, the Kearns think they have struck gold. But their aspirations are dashed after the auto giants who embraced Bob’s creation unceremoniously shunned the man who invented it. Ignored, threatened and then buried in years of litigation, Bob is haunted by what was done to his family and their future. He becomes a man obsessed with justice and the conviction that his life’s work-or for that matter, anyone’s work-be acknowledged by those who stood to benefit. And while paying the toll for refusing to compromise his dignity, this everyday David will try the unthinkable: to bring Goliath to his knees

Library

Hi David: When you have a chance would you post the link to the Library app download. The fish and “salsa” were good. I’ll let you know if Ellen tries it on the ice cream! It was nice to laugh together. Jen

Appt…yard…Parent Night…etc…

Hi David: Just checked your flight info and you are in the air as I type this! Hope your flights were smooth and easy. Were you on planes that showed movies and tv shows on screens in front of you? Did you, watch…read…rest?

Anyway, welcome back. My appointment with Patty has been moved to Thursday morning at 9:30 am – due to an email inbox error on Patty’s side. I am looking forward to meeting her…I feel a little bit at a standstill and I’ve been depressed too, so I’m sure we can find a code that will work for the Ins. Co. still, will need your help with this.

You will find the yard uncut…yesterday was the evening I was going to mow the back and front…and, it rained. Tonight I was at my folks for a bit. Dad’s movement’s are really slow and labored…an O2 test tonight – a small machine that attaches to his finger – will determine if he should sleep with O2 and a nurse will be out tomorrow to check his lungs…make sure pnemonia stays at bay.

Due to the parent night at the main campus, Ellen did not have band practice tonight. She was happy to have the time to do homework, which is just about complete. She took her second AR test today (a day early) and got 100% (10/10)! She also received a perfect score on one of her self directed papers for Fahrenheit 451…I guess I’m bragging a bit on her behalf. Lab test was Monday…so Biology is a wait and see.

This Thursday is Parent Night at the 9th grade center. You will not need to pick Ellen up from school on Thursday. Due to parent night, the band is practicing from 3-6 pm. I’ll pick her up at 6 pm, then, if you like, we can come by and pick you up for Parent Night which starts at 7 pm. Will confirm all with you over the phone.

Well, I do hope you enjoyed your trip. I’m going to eat a little dinner with Ellen now and finish a cute, silly comedy we started last night…Wedding Date.

Good night,

Jen

PS: Haven’t heard a beep from flight 1…will give them the rest of the crickets tomorrow…have not bought any more. Let me know what you find when you check the log.

Schedule/Dinner

Posted in David | 2 Comments »

David: On the days you pick up Ellen from school, if you’re at the house, stay until 2 pm (as planned for tomorrow)…Wednesday’s, you’ll need to leave by 1 pm.

Tuesday’s and Thursdays, you’ll find Ellen’s change-of-clothes for band in a bag hanging on the back of the front door.

This Thursday (10/1) I’ll come by your folks house and we can both drop off Ellen at band practice. I’d like to then go back to your folks and have dinner together with them at the house (ask your Mom and Dad if this will work for them – we can pick up Chinese or Chicken to make it easier); then you and I can spend some time by the lake. Ok?

Flight Keys?

Posted in David | 1 Comment »

D: The keys for the flight are not hanging in their usual spot? I checked other obvious and not-so-obvious places? Any ideas? The food for the outside birds is in bowls in the fridge. Let me know if you have the keys and/or find them. Thanks, Jen
