Friday

Jen: I’ve misplaced my wallet. It may not turn up before Saturday when I need my ID for Family Ties. So, could you put my passport on the kitchen table where I can find it Friday? Or, have Ellen take it with her to Family Ties Saturday? Please let me know what you can do. David

David: Ellen will bring a deck of cards…looking for the book. She’ll also have her FCAT and report card grades to share with you, along with the latest from band camp. You two talk about Algebra and figure out what you want to do. I hope you both have a good visit.

Saturday … You say you have told Ellen about my last post to her. Is she not following the blog?
Cards … It would help if LN brought some cards … and the card rule book.
She could just make preparations directly with me on the phone.
She might appreciate working through the Algebra with me. I mean, it’s like doing a puzzle. Might be fun! I mean, in a 2x kind of way.

I was wrong about Dr. Camm’s reception. It wasn’t for the Atlantic Center of the Arts. The ACA board members were there – Lou Frey’s wife for one. But they were there because they are also Friends of Meade Gardens. However, as Dr. Camm has told me, they are not the garden’s best friends – apparently the ‘friends’ would like to plant alot of building the garden.

D: Sounds like some good thoughts you can share with Ellen, too, on Saturday. In my humble opinion, the faking part comes in to play on the field when the “newbees” are more worried about getting to where they need to go…20 steps forward…sharp left…2 high kicks…then back it up…oh yeah…and remember to play! Ellen has been practicing her music and tonight she did say that it was coming together for her…a senior picolo player is helping her out with the routines…I think Ellen would appreciate your thoughts.

To share a little more…the past couple of days, I have also been talking with Ellen about this Saturday. Letting her know what you posted awhile ago…that you’ll probably play cards…keep things light…really I could want to tell both of you my hopes for your time together…instead I really just need to let it be yours.

Well, it’s 11 pm…time for me to wind down.

I’ll say goodnight now, David. Good night.

Did you know there is a big, big billboard on west-bound I-4 between Lee and Princetion that refers to Orlando Health as ORMC. The new Orlando Health logo is on the sign, too. But it’s small. It’s illegible. Not ORMC! That’s big and bold. It’s almost as though somebody had second thoughts on the whole branding thing.

Taylor did band camp. And he did marching band. Then after doing that for a year he told his dad he’d faked his way through. A little weird. But I did that – faked it. When I was in the elementary violin ‘orchestra’. I faked it through the gran recital. So, Ellen’ll do what she’s asked to do. And I really don’t think she’d stop doing anything she’d been asked to unless she was asked to stop. Anyway, I’m concerned about Ellen’s involvement in band. She’s getting alot of support. But she’ll still need you or me to give a clean way out so that she doesn’t force herself to fake it.

Well…the last few days have been busy at the office. I had a weighty project due yesterday for a 2 pm meeting: Safety Starts with Me! It’s an awareness campaign to remind team members to be safe…which in turn saves lots of money because there are less incidents…worker’s comp claims, etc…well I pulled it together in 2 intense hours and it was a hit! Today was another big meeting having to do with physician practices and the presentation of collateral pieces…it went well.

Your Mom was nice and took Ellen to Band Camp on Monday and Tuesday…I’ve worked it out to be able to come and get her on my lunch. Last weekend she did ride her bike to WPHS to time it…about 25 min…then we figured another 10-15 to lock up her bike and get to the band room…with the camp days so long, I have come home to get her…still wanted to have the bike option ready.

I saw my Dad and Mom tonight at the Rehab Center. It looks like Dad will be coming home with an electronic Hoyer (sp?) lift…it will take continual daily physical therapy for a while longer to get his legs to work.

I’ve tried to reach Mr. Farmer from the IB program. Left several voice messages and sent an email to confirm that Ellen is on the IB roster. I will place another call tomorrow.

Is the project you’re working on for your Mom?

I took a box of movies from the computer room when I was there Friday. I’m watching one of those – Johnny Mneumonic.
My project involves creating a neighborhood map and counting the homes on the map.
What have you been doing the last few days?

  9. Jennifer says:

I’m on. Started watching The Reader earlier…what movie are you watching? What project are you working on?

  10. David says:

I’m back. I’m sitting at the counter in the kitchen watching a movie and working on a project.
The wallet is missing. I last used my credit card Sunday at Home Depot and Publix. I did not notice it was missing until late Tuesday and do not remember using it Monday. I have looked ‘everywhere’ and can not find it. But I do expect it to turn up. So, I am not ready to cancel the credit card.

David: Though you are not there, I’ll write a little more.

Simply working things out between ourselves means that you talk with your parents about staying there longer…through your completion of BIP and then through the start of family counseling. Family Ties will stop with the end of the Injunction and it’s going to take you time to build a bridge back to Ellen. This weekend is the start of that for you, so please consider that.

As far as family counselors…I would like to go to someone who is experienced in the dynamic of domestic violence, co-dependency, anger. From the little I’ve talked with MJ, it sounds like she would recommend someone, but not become our family counselor, which is too bad as I’ve grown to like her. Have you asked Joyce?

I agree with you that John Cox would not be the right person to be our main counselor. He has been a good resource for Ellen and I (Ellen is comfortable talking with him), and for you and I in the past. I would like us to see him occasionally, too.

Well I need to leave to pick up Ellen soon…will log on later to see if you are there.

  12. Jennifer says:

I’ll log back on at around 10:15 pm.

RE Passport: I’ll leave it at the front desk in an envelop with your name on it…with Ken directly as long as he is there. What about your wallet/credit cards…do you think it is just “misplaced?” Jen

  14. Jennifer says:

David: OK…so, what would working things out between ourselves be like? You asked earlier what I intended to do…what I intended to ask you to do and you said you would be open to my decision…too, you said that your attendance at BIP would be negated if we entered family counseling prior to your completion of the program. I would like you to finish BIP successfully and I would like you and Ellen to see each other through Family Ties…then family counseling. I have considered a motion for dismissal in the civil case, as I can do that and, you have shown me that you are sincere in your program…first by finding it and joining it on your own and second by sharing your homework with me…third by the way you have reached out to Ellen and continue to reach out to her even without much response and also through your postings to me.

I was thinking about what to share with you today and the thought that kept coming to my mind was an experience I had when I was about 12 or so…I visited a friends’ house for the first and only time. It was a nice house…a nice home…comforting…big curtainless windows, light streaming in…white surroundings and orderly but lived in…it was a happy home…now, I don’t know if it was happy or not, really…but I do know that was the feeling I got from it and I know my feeling was real and I knew then, that that was the feeling I wanted when I grew up and had a family and a home.

  15. David says:

I’ve got to run. I am chauffeuring Dr Cam, and she has just called for me to pick her up at a reception on Park Av – the board of the So, talk to you later?

  16. David says:

Jen: If I do not have access to the house tomorrow, then it would be best for you to leave the passport at Dad’s office; Family Ties has told me they ‘might’ be willing to accept it from you or Ellen, but they said doing so would be a violation of their own rules. So, again, if I do not have access to the house tomorrow, please leave my passport at Dad’s office. David

  17. David says:

Jen: The chicks are no longer a big issue; all but the strongest one have died. The remaining chick is feathered out and eating solid food. So, my earlier post is moot. Still, the bird does need regular feedings. That means, simply, that I can not leave myself open to doing anything in particular at the house when it is open to me. I would still like to do what I can there. And I would still like for it to be open to me as much as possible. More pointedly, I would like for you to make a motion for dismissal without prejudice – remove the injunction without seeking a judgement. Then we can simply work things out between ourselves. David

  18. Jennifer says:

OK…I understand about the house being open…I’ll send an email to Mike Morris/Vivian tomorrow about next Monday, Tues, Wed from 1-6 pm…then we can agree on the rest of August and I’ll send him another email later next week. OK?
    jen

  19. Jennifer says:

    Hey, I’m here, too.

  20. David says:

I would like the house to be open to me as much as possible. I can not commit to being there.

  21. David says:

I’m here, if you want to chat.

  22. jennifer says:

David: I have your passport and will bring it on Saturday…OR I can leave it with Ken at your Dad’s office tomorrow on my way into work…please let me know which you would like me to do.

RE: FRIDAY: In an earlier post/comment you said that you wouldn’t be able to come on Friday’s for a while due to caring for the chicks. We haven’t worked out a schedule for August through Mike Morris, so tomorrow is out. Next week Aunt Deb is coming down Thursday night and staying through the weekend.

So, regarding a schedule for August: I need to know what you can do/would like to do…for starters I can offer next Mon (8/10), Tues (8/11), Wed (8/12) from 1 pm to 6 pm.

RE: WALLET: First off I hope you find it. Second, should we cancel the credit card?

Please confirm that you received this message.

    Thanks,
    Jen
