On the 22nd your Biology grade average was 52.11. On the 25th it was changed to 68.78. The change ocurred after your score for Lab Report #1 – an incomplete assignment – was raised from 0 to 50% – or, put another way, from the lowest possible F to the highest possible F. That change requires an explaination.
It appears the Lab Report score was changed for no reason at all. That suggests the teacher has discretion to score an F as she chooses, and she chose to give a high F simply to improve the overall GPA.

If an incomplete is an F, and an F is scored as 50%, and the IV/DV Worksheet was given a score of 50%, then was it, like the Lab Report #1, an incomplete? Did you, Ellen, not turn in that assignment?

Question: Is an incomplete graded as 0/x, or as .5x/x? In other words, is it given no credit or a 50% credit?

Question: Did you, Ellen, fail to turn in the IV/DV Worksheet?

The big question is – What can be done to bring up the grade?

The final grade is an average of the preceding grades. The average calculated on the ProgressBook website doesn’t add up.

If the points earned (161) are divided by the points available (228), the average should be 70.61%.
If the percentages scored are totaled (459) and divided by the number of grades (6), the average should be 76.5%.
So, there is either an error in the calculated average, or the average includes figures not on the ProgressBook website.

Question: What other grades are included in the average that do not appear on ProgressBook? How can they be tracked?

Knowing all the grades and grade points used to calculate the final average grade also means knowing just how many grades and grade points are to be averaged during the entire term. Right now there are six grades and two hundred and twenty eight grade points in the final average.

Question: How many more grades will there be? And how many total grade points will there be?

You need an A on every future assignment to end the term with a B.

    You can do it.

Guess you’re in the 71% that didn’t answer the question correctly?
