    OK. Good night.

  2. Jennifer says:

I’ll read the passages tonight…thanks for sharing. We can discuss them then at a later date…how about Tuesday at 9 pm? I pick Ellen up at 8:30 pm from Band Practice and can probably log on at 9 pm for a little while.

Well, my candle is about at it’s limit and so am I tonight…getting tired. So, good night…thanks for blogging. Jen

  3. David says:

No. I just thought wraps might be a handy pack lunch meal for two gals who lunch away.

  4. David says:

Well, Helen’s message was from James 2:14-26. Dan’s message though really got my attention – Mark 7:24-37. This passage from Mark is really kind of wierd. So, Dan’s explanation helped. Jesus is trying to get away from the crowds following him. He finally gets some privacy when a woman who is not a Jew finds him and asks him to save her daughter. Jesus says something that just doesn’t make any sense without an explanation. You read the scripture yourself and I’ll tell you what Dan said it means. Jesus says something like the children must be fed before the dogs. Dan said Jesus was telling the woman that he must help the Jews before he could help her a Gentile. Dan told me after the sermon that the woman’s response is a direct but humble challenge to what Jesus has said. She says that even the dogs are permitted to eat the crumbs left by the children. For making this faith filled challenge her child is healed. She believes she is worthy and in that honors a higher power.

Well, while I’m waiting for you to find the verse…I can tell you that we LOVE the grill…Ellen is good at it…she takes her ipod and the speakers out there in one hand…spices and meat of choice in the other…and grills away. Wraps…though I can enjoy them from time to time, I’m not a huge fan…I’d rather have a bread sandwich…or whatever is put in a wrap as a salad with pita on the side…there’s a wrap station at the hospital cafeteria and my usual is the Buffalo Blue as a salad…chicken, blue cheese, lettuce, celery, hot sauce and ranch…it’s really good and spicy…you…have you been trying wraps?

  6. David says:

I went today. I skipped last week. I went with Ken and Julian to First Pres one week. I switch between Park Lake and Calvary. BIP throws a new light on the animated and vocal techniques of the evangelist. Today the sermon was from James 2. I’ll go find the verse.

  7. David says:

    Doing anything on the grill?
What do you think of wraps?
Like – a salad wrap? A crazy wrap – a BLT wrap? A hummus wasabi wrap? A rice and goat wrap? Yeah! Rice and goat. It’s guyanese. Yeah. A guy in BIP is from Guyana. Has a restaurant on East Colonial. Serves Goat and Rice. No Wraps. He’s of Indian extract.

  8. Jennifer says:

Speaking of Park Lake…are you going there…are you going to church regularly?

  9. David says:

I have to do some community service myself.

  10. David says:

Yes. I do have a suggestion – Helen DeBevoise. Or, just call Park Lake. My mom will have some ideas too – Calvary even has a regular knitting group. The young DeBevoise is in the church choir. That’s an idea for Ellen. An all around good idea. Not many girls her age at Park Lake. But alot of young girls. Ellen’s got something to offer.

  11. Jennifer says:

Ellen just said she would post her classes and teachers for you tomorrow, along with how to contact them. From what I can tell IB has a lot of work, but the subject matter is not all that different from Calvert.

  12. David says:

Jennifer: It’s week two for Ellen at the Ninth Grade Center. I would like some detailed information. I think I’ve asked for it already. Teacher names and contact info. Class schedule and websites. I’m eager to find out just how intimidating it is. David

  13. Jennifer says:

Yes Audrey is my friend…haven’t seen her for a while…she worked at the Sentinel when her mother (only) was murdered – her mother was with a friend when the car they were in was hijacked…after that she opened her own graphic arts studio on Washington…that’s when I met her…I was still working for Winter Park Hosptial…then she started doing fine art (encaustic) and started to make a living at it.

So, you rubbed elbows with the rich and famous last night…sounded like you had a good time. I went to a McRae opening in the spring…saw the GodDESS Lynn then and John Whipple…still really like the work they both do…John really evolves and changes his style.

Speaking of art, Ellen was disappointed that the IB tract did not allow for 2 electives…she would have had Timothy Tyler (the “story guy”) for a teacher…she actually sought him out to say hello and they talked a bit…he told her that maybe something could be worked out for her to have lessons from him…maybe a short 8 week course…me, too.

Before that, however, I need to get her volunteer activities lined up. The Science Center is a positive option. I spoke with the coordinator…I’m faxing Ellen’s app on Tuesday. The coordinator is scheduling orientations this month…we tired the Birds of Prey Center, however, they only let 18 year olds handle the birds…a shame really for someone of Ellen’s experience…Ellen’s hat she made for Winnie Palmer Hospital may count toward volunteer hours and I’m also going to call O.U.R. Any other suggestions? She needs 10 hours in the first 9 weeks and 40 by the end of the school year…volunteering for family doesn’t count…neighborhood clean-ups would.

  14. David says:

BLAMING. That is the next BIP homework.

  15. David says:

No, dear, I go onto uTube just to find entertainment for uTwo.

  16. David says:

I have not taken any movies from the house. I did add a movie to the queue. I think it was a female jazz guitarist that I thought might interest Ellen. Search your computer for Library Books. It’s a software that loads your ID and password into the Orange County Library website. It’s nice to have just for that feature. If it’s not on the computer, then google “library books osx” and you should find it. Then, of course, loading an alarm into iCal will make it just that much easier to enjoy the library by avoiding fines.

  17. David says:

Is Audrey Phillips your friend? The woman who’s mother and sister were murdered?

  18. David says:

However, I am not eating yogurt with granola right this minute while watching reruns of StarGate. I am here waiting for inspiration.

  19. Jennifer says:

Great little interlude. It’s wild how people just make videos…right on the fly…no art direction needed to worry about backgrounds, angles, etc…I love it. Do you go on youtube often? I saw the RedBox at 7-11…and now that makes me remember that I wanted to ask you about Netflix…did you happen to take the last round of movies?
The membership started up automatically…then I changed it to 1 movie at a time, but haven’t seen anything come through…I’ll check the account, too…just thought I’d check with you first.

  20. David says:

Yes. I am eating yogurt. With granola. While watching reruns of StarGate.

  21. Jennifer says:

The ical for band will be a welcome reference…thanks…I wanted to thank you too for keeping the fridge stocked with the herbal iced tea…I really like it and will pick up another jug when I go to Publix tomorrow. Also, Sue turned me on to a new brand of Yogurt you might like: Cabot Greek Style Plain…it’s really thick and good and becomes a nice dessert when drizzled with a little maple syrup. Are you still eating yogurt?

  22. David says:

It is going up a few feet from where Dad has his little shaded plant nursery. Oh. My dad does have an orchid secret. Buy lots of’em.

  23. Jennifer says:

I would not have intentionally run over the White Lightening because I’m mad at you…I like the White Lightening…always have…if it was in bloom I’m sure I wouldn’t have missed it…like I said, I’ll be sure to be careful…give it a break.

Now I can tell you about the grape vine post…I ran right into it! I thought I was in reverse…gently stepped on the gas and bam! down came the post…it was a gentle hit…as soon as I realized I was going forward, I put the break on…Ellen was with me…it was actually one of those things that make you laugh with disbelief. I haven’t tried to fix it…I did see you kind of moved it off to the side.

Also, regarding the bamboo…I did think it was growing closer to the wire…I took a look today and saw that it was clear of any wires…so I think your explanation is the best…someone wanted a piece of it.

  24. David says:

Started to make an iCal calendar for band. Wow! That is some schedule. There’s a Winter Band. And in the spring there is something else. Some require auditions. Ellen should find out about those now – in particular, what pieces are required for the auditions. Dr. Camm has told me that there are two local youth orchestras.

  25. Jennifer says:

Glad your on your way to getting it erected…bummer about the mold…better to find out while it’s on the ground. Where did you end up putting it?

  26. David says:

    One candle left.
The white lightening got hit with the lawn mower. Compare it to the lantana out the computer window. The white lightening isn’t getting a break.

  27. David says:

Well I guess I’ll have another day to spend on the owl house. I’ve got the hole. I’ve got a five foot piece of pipe in the hole. It’s centered and level. I’ll put concrete in tomorrow. What I’m doing is using galvanizied steel conduit. It’s threaded on bothe ends. I’m putting one five foot piece in the ground that will protrude a foot. That is surrounded with cement. A sleeve is screwed onto the protruding pipe. A ten foot length of pipe with the owl house on top will be screwed into the sleeve. The house has mold all over it. It will have to be painted.

  28. Jennifer says:

We have a regular visitor, too, a frog on the front porch…saw another cute one by the pool pump tonight.

No, I don’t have an issue with the White Lightening…I’ve always liked it, too…I don’t remember cutting it at all…I do remember pulling weeds up that had grown around that area…I’ll be more careful.

    So, is the fire out?

  29. David says:

There’s kingfisher here now. It’s a new regular visitor. There’s a tri-color and a little blue heron that are here frequently. You know, one day I was over there a HUGE black racer slipped between my feet on the little walkway behind the house. HUGE. It disappeared into the ferns around the lantana. You did get my message about the white lightening. Have you got an issue with it, where it’s at, or something else? Whoops. Lost a candle. Uh oh. Need an extinquisher!

  30. Jennifer says:

It’s a holiday for us too…I’m off, Ellen is off from school…I’ll feed the birds…I did make sure this was clear and bold in the email I sent Mike Morris…not sure what he forwarded to you…access starts up again Tues. What else did you do today? How is the owl house going up?

  31. Jennifer says:

That made me chuckle…I have a small candle in the little bird candle holder (that sits on top of the entertainment center) lit…speaking of birds…they were going off a bit tonight around 7:30…I walked out to the back porch and saw the culprit…a hawk in James’ back yard eating a snake…a snuck out and got a closer look…came back in to get my binocs…when I went back outside it was gone…saw two wood storks today at the little swampy area on Old Winter Park Rd. What about you…done any birding lately?

  32. David says:

Good question. Do I have access to the house tomorrow morning? I have no class tomorrow. We’re off for the holiday. Are you working? Is Ellen at school?

  33. David says:

Yes. I have four birthday candles stuck to the bottom of a dinner plate. They’re lit. The lights are off. The lap top is warming my lap.

  34. Jennifer says:

Understood…WOW 8,500…they must be beauties…ok, then, I’ll check with Underwood…a rental from Music & Arts will run around $20…after I get more info from Underwood, and an estimate from Music & Arts, the decision should be clear.

So, what is your BIP homework on for this week?

  35. David says:

    yes y do now

  36. David says:

Uhm … Let’s see. Oh. Archery. You know, some of those bamboo limbs are straight and just the right diameter. Makes me wonder. Oh. Dr. Camm’s clarinet. I will not ask. I thought about it. But after she described them I decided it really would be too much to ask. They are worth about $8500. Ask Ellen if anybody in band has a clarinet worth as much as a grand. Doubt it. Don’t you? Besides, I learned that they are not in the house but are instead on loan already to another friend.

  37. Jennifer says:

Do you have a candle lit? I’ll wait for your reply to this message so we can get in sync.

  38. Jennifer says:

Looks like we’ll be able to check out the archery shop at the same time! I’m taking Ellen to Dr. Holson’s office on Wednesday afternoon to talk about fatigue…she seems to be doing ok lately…cold hung on and turned into a bit of a cough…she’s been resting at home these two days doing homework and watching movies while I’ve been back and forth to my folks to exercise my Dad and help him with transferring. This afternoon he walked from the bedroom to the living room…me waking backwards in front of the walker…then Dad…then Mom behind with the wheelchair…he is stronger just not strong enough to do all this on his own.

  39. David says:

    She has a small pool.

  40. Jennifer says:

Thanks…that was the place recommended by Ellen’s Band teacher…I called twice…never got an answer…I will definately follow up with Underwood next week and let you know what they have to say. Where do you and Dr. Camm swim?

  41. David says:

Anyway … Did a swim with Dr. Camm this afternoon. She told me about her matching set of clarinets. One is the standard B flat. The other is in the key of A. The second is, apparently, better suited to the symphony and preferred by the symphony artist. She also recommended an instrument repair professional located near Trinty Prep just off Aloma – Underwood Music, Gary Underwood, 4949 N Pine Av, Winter Park, 407-677-8792, underwood55@aol.com. If you’re not entirely satisfied with the repairs you’ve already arranged, or if you simply want to test the good doctor’s advice, give Underwood a bit of business.

  42. Jennifer says:

Well…maybe you’re writing…so I’ll write too, to tell you about the trip to the clarinet shop…Music & Arts…we found the place just off 434…not too far…however, I must have misunderstood…the clarinet needs to be in good working/playing order before it can go “on” the Instrument Maintenance Plan…the estimators weren’t there today, so I’m going to take it back Wednesday to find out how much they will charge to fix it. Would you ask Dr. Camm if Ellen may borrow her clarinet next week? We did stop at a gun shop on the way back home to see if they had archery items…that was an interesting stop…you could see the people through a window shooting at targets…a bit surreal…we did find out that there is a place east on Aloma that has archery items…we’ll check it out next weekend. J

  43. Jennifer says:

    I’m here two.

  44. David says:

OK. It’s eight oh one. I’m here.

  45. Jennifer says:

    Great…til then…J

  46. David says:

    Sure.

  47. Jennifer says:

    Later tonight…8 pm?

  48. David says:

Do you have another time to blog?
