Jen: There’s one chick in flight one. It looks big enough to be to hand feed safely. I am not sure I want to do that. I’ll decide tomorrow. The parents may make their decision sooner. It looks like the Friday hatch and Saturday hatch are gone. The remaining chick is probably the last chick hatched.
Today I had to see my Diversion officer and sign up with Community Service. Right now I am leaving to see MJ in Casselberry. David

Ellen: The latest updates to the website for Archeology Magazine include an article with a guide to the “egyptian” experience of New York City. The article has hot links not only to museums with artifacts but restaurants, buildings, and even masoleums designed or decorated in a style that celebrates ancient Egypt. Something to look forward to next time you visit new jerusalem.
Yeah, some folks call the Big Apple new jerusalem. What do you think of that? The Big Apple. Is that a reference to the forbidden fruit of Eden, the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? And Apple Records, the Beatles’ recording label? Does it too refer to the origin of self-consciousness? Apple Computer?
The great Judeo-Christian myths aren’t exactly where you’re at right now. So, here’s another egypt link that looked really cool.
But here is the best link of all – Ancient Egyptian ZOMBIES!!!
Later,
Dad

David: On the days you pick up Ellen from school, if you’re at the house, stay until 2 pm (as planned for tomorrow)…Wednesday’s, you’ll need to leave by 1 pm.
Tuesday’s and Thursdays, you’ll find Ellen’s change-of-clothes for band in a bag hanging on the back of the front door.
This Thursday (10/1) I’ll come by your folks house and we can both drop off Ellen at band practice. I’d like to then go back to your folks and have dinner together with them at the house (ask your Mom and Dad if this will work for them – we can pick up Chinese or Chicken to make it easier); then you and I can spend some time by the lake. Ok?

There is a chick in flight one. There are also two eggs. The eggs should hatch this weekend.
The crickets got in the flight late: I should have had them in on Monday. They appear to be agitating the birds now. Still, they need to stay in the flight.
The chick looks bad. There is a blood stain and bruise on the head. I think it will disappear.
The feed doors on flights six and eight are welded and can not be moved to flights five and seven. The door frames could be moved but not easily. In fact, the holes drilled to bolt the frames to the flights are unique to the frames and would therefore require drilling new holes, and more. So, I will be putting birds in flights six and eight, instead of five and seven as I had hoped to do.
I haven’t found a chaperone for Saturday. If that’s a problem for you, then Ellen and I won’t be getting together. If it is not a problem, or if I do find a chaperone, then Ellen can, if she wants, bring the DVD for Stargate Continuum.
Jen, you want to chaperone? We could all three do a little gar fishing tonight! And watch a movie. And play cards. And have a bite to eat. And…
Ellen’s Biology report is on the kitchen table.
Please leave the brooder in the house. I will straighten it up and move it to the bird room Monday.
The two pair did get into their new flights. There are some problems with the aisle doors. I’ll have to get to those later.

D: The keys for the flight are not hanging in their usual spot? I checked other obvious and not-so-obvious places? Any ideas? The food for the outside birds is in bowls in the fridge. Let me know if you have the keys and/or find them. Thanks, Jen

Jen:
I left a few things: Fun Map for cycling around town, Grill tins from Churchill, Wildflower video for the gardener in you. Started some laundry that looked like it needed attention. Brought home more fruit than a thousand birds could eat.
