David: My Dad is going home tomorrow…after 2 months of being in the hospital system. He was scheduled to go home last week when his techs rallied for him and convinced the doctor that because he had improved, he needed more time in rehab to continue on. Today he walked about 70 steps…and is transferring a bit easier (from bed to chair…chair to commode…back to bed). He’s going home with a motorized wheelchair…no oxygen!…and a very nervous wife. Mom, while being his biggest cheerleader, is very stressed about it all. She’s handling everything, but it’s all overwhelming. Dad’s blood pressure is up and down and he’ll probably need the catheter back in round the clock…so, while going home is good…there are still a lot of issues for them to deal with. To that end, Mom has hired help during the day and Dad will continue exercising with rehab techs coming to the house and on his own, everyday. He’s worked really hard and has seen the benefit of it, which should help him stay motivated. I’ll be going over Thursday night while Ellen is at band practice and sometime over the weekend to do what I can to help out. Keep them in your good thoughts. Jen
Ms. Commucation – The Love Doctor’s Rx is Blog Date Night! Yeah. Really. Two adults. Set a date. Set a time. Light a candle. Log on. Hmmm. Lots of possibilities. R U ^ 4 it? Food for thought!Mr. E.S.
My mother has offered to do whatever may be necessary tomorrow to give Ellen a place to convalesce and me access to the house. She will call to talk with you two about this – or, you all can call her. The idea, I think, is to pick Ellen up early tomorrow and bring her here while I go over there.
This would give Buddy some company while he recuperates from eating an entire twelve piece box of Popeyes fried chicken, bones and all. We’ve had to clean diarrhea off every rug in the house. Mom’s ionizing air scrubbers have met their match.
Anyway, L & Bud could snuggle on the couch in front of the wide screen all day.
My mother has told me that she was told by Dr. Didea that most disinfectants will not kill Swine Flu. He recommended a product called Hibiclens. I was also told handiwipes can be found with hibiclens.
The disinfectant under the birdroom sink is very good. If you’ve time, and certainly before you use it, read the label – the label might give you an idea how you might want to make use of it.
David: Ellen just talked with you to let you know she would be home today. She may have what I had last week…in which case a day of rest should help. She does not have a fever. I will let you know if that changes.
Regarding the fruit: Drop it off at your Dad’s office as usual. I’ll call Ken about picking it up.
