How’d it go, Ellen?

Headline in the paper today announced the start of public school along side a warning about the swine flu. So, listen to everyone’s advice on that issue. And, maybe put some Handy Wipes in you locker. You know. To wipe away the doubts!

Hope it went well. You’re on the tight rope. But you got a big net to catch you. As soon as you got an issue – get on the phone. Call somebody who can help you out.

PLEASE let me know more about the thyroid thing. If you can avoid thyroid medication, it’s best to do so. So, take a look at what is going on in your life. What’s changing? Might these changes effect your sleep? Hulu, for instance. I can not sleep since you introduced me to HuLu! Just kidding. But if you’ve reduced your exercise, maybe you should look at that.

OK, I love you. Later.

Dad

Ellen: Jordan is visiting her dad in Tampa through the weekend. Ken, Taylor, Logan, Jordan, and Cory went fishing last weekend. That’s the scuttle butt. Dad

Mom is in the next room. Playing the piano. Sounds like it could have been added to the soundtrack of Titanic. Mellow, you know. A little melancholy. But appropriate – she’s just finished her morning devotional. And I followed her lead. Listened to my So-Hum – sixteen minutes of regulated breathing. And when I’d finished that, iTunes went to the next mpg file in my ‘meditation’ queue – Dawn. It’s got a kind of zen-archer, native-american sound.
Anyway, imagine yourself, six a.m., sitting on a dock, perhaps at this house, perhaps on a lake in the evergreen forests of Maine, alone, alone with your clarinet, breathing in the mist, breathing out a tune, an edgeless, silky, meloncholy tune that returns to you in a slow distant echo. Or, imagine cutting loose in the gym, or the locker room. I beat the clarinet sounds different everywhere it’s played.
Anyway, I hope you got a good start this morning.
Think about collecting phone numbers tomorrow at school. Just ask at least one person each day for a phone number. Use it or not. Asking is connecting. You’ll make friends without even knowing it. You know, ‘Hi. I’m Ellen. What’s your name? Would you write you phone number in my notebook?’
You want a buddy blog? Give me a name and I’ll set it up for you. I don’t know either way if it would be of any use.
Well, I’m going to get to other things.
    Dad

Sunday, with moms permition of course, Mom dyed my hair. I went to my first day of school with red hair. It’s a wash out dye so it will be gone in about 28 or so washes. All my friends at school where surprised.
