Jen: Today in the mailbox were two envelopes from the court regarding our case against Orange County, specifically the case against the Code Enforcement Board. Both envelopes contained an order reassigning our case to a new judge. One envelope – from the Criminal Division and postmarked the 11th – contained an order from the new judge requiring a supplemental brief within ten days of the order dated August 7th. In other words, the court expects action on or before Monday the 17th; when the language of the order uses the expression “from the date of this order” no time is added for mailing. My plan is to move for an extension. However, I do need your signature. Please stay in contact through the blog so that we can arrange that … I think it should be possible to leave it at my dad’s office for you to sign that morning BUT I would like to be very sure it happens.
