What’s cooking
Posted on Tuesday, August 11th, 2009 at 8:28 pmChef Jen: Tonight is tuna night – tuna and macaroni and cheese topped with crispy potato chips.
Today I did go by the house. I picked up the ladder. It helped me to reach the paddle fan on the back porch. But the new fan is working no better than the old. And I’m afraid it’s the remote that has the short. So, I’m not sure yet what I’ll do about that.
There is a twenty foot canoe on craigslist. It looks like theres a brace in front of the rear paddler that would restrict leg movement. And, of course, the price of anything would restrict the purchase of other items (doors) that may have greater priority.
I can live without a canoe.
Please let me know how Ellen is doing today.

What say me? I say yes. I do think it is a wild and wooly proposition to work together on a program during this time…a good proofing ground.
I do have questions: Who sells the ads – Chamber, you – both? How many artists?
Except for creating the flyer and mailing labels, I won’t be much help with the actual ad flyer mailing (stuffing, labeling, dropping) or ad sales/follow-up. I can work on ad creation and the layout of course.
With the show being at the end of October, I believe there is enough time…maybe this can be an all cash program, which would be nice.
Well, I’ve got to stop blogging now…just wanted to respond to this one…I do appreciate the story!

You have not asked about my meeting with the Winter Springs Chamber of Commerce.
You’ll appreciate the story.
Last year they finally did their first show. And, of course, we did not do the program. The Chamber had considered us but ultimately chose the publisher of the Seminole Voice – the same fellow who also bought Gerhardt’s Winter Park Observer. Well, he sub-ed it out. And the freelancer who did the job presented a finished layout to the Chamber the day before it was due to be printed … and it looked h-o-r-r-i-b-l-e. So, the Chamber had to redesign it that night (Cynthia?). And they don’t want to do that again. So, they want us.
So, what do you say?
I saw what they did. It’s exactly what we do for the Orlando show. Except for one thing – it’s ugly. It belongs in the Hall of Infamous Ugly Things. I was glad I could look upon it without turning to stone.
On the other hand, you know, it’s said – copying is a form of flattery. But a bad, ugly copy really calls for legal action, or worse.
Anyway, what say you?
It’s a fall show. October?
