Jen: Today I am still busy with chicks and bookkeeping. So, I will go home to see if Bruce shows up. But I don’t think I will be spending the day there. David

David: Sorry you missed Bruce. He called my cell to say he’d try and stop back by…I think you just missed each other. Anyway, I’ll schedule him at a time when I can be here to meet him.
Sorry about the chicks, too. I’m understanding you to say that to keep them healthy, you’re going to keep them put, which means you won’t be able to come over to spend time at the house for a while. Just let me know when things change and we can arrange whatever will work best.
Glad you like the color of Ellen’s room. Starting there…well…if you were here, I can imagine that Ellen and I would show you paint colors, then you would most likely go with what she (we) liked – this isn’t a negative comment, just factual, so it seemed ok to make that decision without you here. As for the rest of the house, I have ideas, but feel you should have input, too. Making the house more homey is something I want to do. I did look at fabric this weekend to cover the kitchen chairs in. Some nice fabric runs around $9.99 a yard (or less on sale)…it wouldn’t take more than a couple of yards and a couple of hours to do it. So, what do you say…want to try and do this on the blog…I can take some pics of the fabrics I like and post them to get your input?
Thanks too, for the visual tour of Sherwin Williams…I wish I had known about the “frog” tape…it will help when painting the trim and touching up the ceiling…that’s for a weekend in the distant future.
Regarding Family Ties…I let Ellen know. Too, your folks agreed to be on the list in case of an emergency on my end. Your Mom did recommend Ken, too and since he lives close, I asked him and in true Ken style he said yes. I did thank all of them and stressed that getting a call would only be if something unexpected came up for me…like a flat tire or dead battery. So, I’m really not expecting to call them, but glad to have the back up as the rules are…as you know…very strict.
Well, it’s 10 pm, time to turn in.
    Good night,
    Jen

Jen: I missed Bruce. I was at the house twice: first, from nine to ten thirty; and second, from twelve to one. Bruce’s card was in the door when I arrived the second time.
The color of Ellen’s room is nice. The decision to put her room at the top to the house ‘to do’ list is odd.
Next time there’s painting to do I suggest going to Sherwin Williams. Its quiet. They’ve got everything. They’ve got stuff you know immediately will make painting easier than you thought it could be. They got a tape for edging that I’d like to try – it’s called ‘frog’ tape and it uses the diaper chemistry of ‘pampers’ to absorb paint that might creep under the edge of normal blue painter’s tape. And SW has cool mini rollers and sponge brushes and other stuff you could spend hours just looking at.
I called Family Ties. They told me we will probably get a call next week.
I put a dead chick in the freezer. It can be thrown out with the next garbage. I lost that chick and another this week. I don’t know what happened. I know they severely overheated last Friday as I drove home unaware the brooder’s temperature in the truck had gone over 108. They never really regained the appetite that had before that day. Then mid-week two fresh hatches developed an intestinal infection that I treated with an antibiotic. Those chicks are well but will have development issues. But just as they improved I lost the two birds that hatched here three weeks ago and were overheated last Friday. So, I’m not to keen on going back and forth on Friday’s now that I’m feeding chicks.
