David,
Ellen told me, “Dad never uses the deep tub for the crickets!” I told her that they would jump out of the little tub…I’ll have to apologize to her…should have known she was right. So, yes, bring by a little tub.
Thanks for the suggestions for the crickets…maybe you can get that shallow tub here with the Monday fruit delivery and I’ll start to use it for flight 3…Blackie has enjoyed a couple of crickets, too.
I guess an assisted hatch means the bird is weak? Cross beaks are still cute. It’s pretty early to have a grumpy grandma…hope the day brings change.
I don’t know Ellen’s access code but will ask here and/or find out. I did call Glenridge last week regarding her FCAT scores as we have not received them via mail…but the school was closed through yesterday. I also left a message at the OCPS office. I will follow up and post what I find out early next week along with some of the other important dates for school so you are aware of the schedule.
Band Camp starts next Monday, August 3 for 2 weeks…crazy long hours from 1-9 pm each day. I’ll have to come home at lunch to take Ellen there and may ask our Mom’s and maybe your Dad if they can help a day or two…I’ll arrange a schedule with them this week.
Just finished the BIP Homework…getting ready to post it.

Jen,
I don’t have any suggestion for the extra crickets. There’s nothing I can think of that must be done with them. The pair in flight 3 is still active. You might give them some. Or, you might just take the whole lot to some person, or store, with reptiles.
For future reference – I don’t think I ever used the deep tub for crickets. I don’t remember doing so. It looked to me as though you really had no choice, no shallow tubs. So, I’ll bring one home Friday.
I think I have an assisted hatch here. That’s not real good.
And I do have a chick with a crossed beak. That’s not good.
And I have a grumpy “grandma”. That’s not good.
I mean, apart from ALL there is to be grateful for – no back pain, no hip pain, a fresh pot of coffee, a carburator begging me to touch it all over, etc.
So, what is the access code to Ellen’s progress reports at Glenridge? Her grades? Her FCAT scores?
David
What about the crickets?
Ok…sure…I’ll post tomorrow morning. Jen
The truck needed a new battery. Something similar happened once to the purple pick-up; acted like a starter problem but was the battery, instead.
BIP HOMEWORK: It would help me if you would give me an incident tomorrow. I could then do the rest of the assignment, send it to you for review before turning it in.
Thanks for the post. I will be spending Sunday reviewing and responding to your post: 2nite and Thank You, as well as the BIP Homework you’ve asked me to help with above. I’ll do the BIP Homework first and post as I know your class is on Monday.
Should I feed the remaining crickets to the other birds? Or, just keep feeding them?
So, what was wrong with the truck?

Anyway, today started last night. Last night I finished a paint job for my mother at her building on Corrine. After locking the door to the unit I’d just painted, I tried to start my car. Wouldn’t start. Couldn’t find anything electrical that I’d left on to drain the battery. And, in fact, everything electrical worked as it should. So, I went to Ken’s. Ken’s jumper cables were at Julian’s. So, Ken and I went to Julian’s. Julian and his buddy were too busy playing dueling computer games to do anything but grunt and point. But we got the cables. To no avail. The truck wouldn’t jump. Ken was sure it was the starter. He promised to pick me up at 7:30 to take it off before he had to be to work. “Piece of cake.” Eight o’clock Ken arrives to pick me up. Hmmm. We wave good-bye to grumbling parents, rubbing their eyes and asking Ken, “You off today?” Starter won’t budge. Not a peice of cake. Well, the morning was very slow. Breakfast with Trevor was the high point. The low was Mr. Casanova’s disappointment when I finally arrived to Bravo at ten forty-five. Fruit was already in the dumpster. But I had plenty, didn’t I? Yes, I did. And, I’dl be back Monday, won’t I? Yes, I would.
I did little at the house. I did change the height adjuster on the mower. This weekend I will look at the carburator on the Snapper or take it to a shop Monday.
One chick had already been eaten. One chick hatched today. One egg is in the incubator.
BIP HOMEWORK: If you would, please breifly describe a situation in which I used statements, gestures, vocal tone, physical contact, and/or facial expression to intimidate you.
Too, it will relieve a great deal of tension when you find time to respond to any of many posts and comments you have avoided. Please let me know when I can expect a response.
Well, it looks like I’m thirty minutes behind you.
Hey David: Did the babies hatch today? I just saw the cricket container in the bird room…maybe that means a yes? Maybe it means that you just want me to clean the container? Please let me know if Flight 1 still needs crickets in the morning? Did you have a good day?
Jen
