dad’s back

Posted on Saturday, June 27th, 2009 at 7:12 pm

Ellen: My dad is back in town. He was away last week golfing in South Carolina with some of his buddies from Park Lake. He’s asked me to sit with him tonight and watch a movie. So, I’m going to do that.
While I’m sitting in front of the TV I’m going to take a close look at the two iBooks I got from the house. I’m hoping the old one has all the RAM I’m looking for. If it does, I’ll figure out how to put it in the the brand-new-second-hand iBook so that you can have a computer again if you can keep your mom’s hands off it.
By the time you read this I am guessing you and your mom will have figured out what you’re doing about your invitation to go with Mattie and her parents to church Sunday. My advice to you if you do not go is to thank Mattie for the invitation but tell her you would rather worship with her on another occassion and would like to get together soon just the two of you. My advice to you if you do go is to encourage Mattie directly or indirectly to sit next to her dad during worship and to make a point before and after the service to ask James questions like the stories behind his tattoos, how he met Marie, what was he doing when Mattie was being born, and you might also tell him his nose is just like Mattie’s and his eyes are just like hers, and stuff like that. If you wear a little bluetooth phone in your ear, I can tell you what to say LIVE while you’re standing in front of him wondering what to say next. Kidding. You know. Anyway, going or not going, it should be about worship and about family, and you can make both of those happen as they should. Dad

OK. I’ll order the RAM. And I’ll shoot for delivery next Friday. Or, before. And, Ellen, I just heard about an adventure that might interest you. I’ll post more about that later. Right now I just want to create a little suspense. I want to make you ask yourself, “What kind of adventure is he talking about?” How am I doing so far?

about the computer: I don’t need it before we go to New York but if i can get as soon as i can after that would be nice.
I just figured out that BIAR(Blood In A River) might be on my jumpdrive so i can start editing it without my comp.
    More Later

MeMe2: This post was addressed to Ellen. It was placed in the Ellen category.
I am beginning to to get a picture of what’s happening over there, and perhaps why Ellen’s lost interest in the blog. Her mommy’s ego blob has taken over her blog.
    Hmmm.
    The link has been fixed.
You, on the other hand, may require more work.
Since you have taken over for Ellen, perhaps you can decide how I should proceed with the iBook G4. It now has a system loaded and is running. So, it can be used. I will order RAM. The question: Do you and Ellen (the body you’ve snatched) want the computer back before the RAM is installed? Before Friday? Do you want me to be your daddy? Or, can I have my real daughter back? DW:The study of self…did you make this up Dr. Dave? I like it…of course I would…it’s all about ME! metonymy…it’s blue, but did now allow me to click on it…was it supposed to link somewhere? So back to me…I woke up depressed this morning…in a funk. I had a dream that you were dead…not on the planet anymore…gone for good. I drove over to your folks house…your Dad was on his way to golf and your Mom was getting ready for a party. When I woke, and realized it was a dream, I was glad to know that you (unlike Michael Jackson) were still on the planet, even though you are very far away. Depressed I reamain in my all-about-me-world today. JT

Late Breaking News: The iBook is good. The dad is broke. The iBook would not allow me to load the system software when I tried it last week. Tonight though I found some info in the Help menu that told me to give it another try. What I found mentionned the alert message I got during the earlier failed attempts to load the system software. The Help message suggested that the formatting of the hard drive is critical. So, I followed the directions for the proper formatting of the hard drive, and whala – it worked. The iBook is just about ready.
