Poe and Dreams

Edgar Allan Poe writes the best poems. Some how you can understand what he’s saying. You might not be able to know what Poe is talking about, in some, but the way he makes the lines rhyme makes it seem as if you know what he was feeling when he wrote it.   It’s alittle confusing. Mom got me a HUGE book of Poe’s poems and tales from the book store. I think it’s even bigger then the 819 page book i read awhile ago.

I woke up thinking about that today.  And about my dreams. I had a dream last night. But it’s not really whats in the dream thats inportant. Its what the people say in the dream. When i happen to have a dream (which itsn’t very often) during the day after the dream someone says something that someone said in the dream. Example: One night when Mom and I were leaving Mimi’s and Mimi said we needed to report back to her (call her when we got home, it had been raining so she was worried). Now that doesn’t sound like something Mimi would say. But it was in the dream i had the night before!!

Stange huh??

You know, your stories – some of them – are on this computer. It’s nice to have them here to read; reading them I can imagine you’ve invite me to walk through one of your dreams, to feel what you do, letting your hair down, losening your clothes, climbing trees, confronting shy boys.
I’ve found Fairyland. But I can’t post a link to it in a comment. So, I’ll have to rethink the idea of comments.
I miss you alot. But if I were there, I think I’d get you doing something. I don’t know what. Getting you out the door. Into the world … which, come to think of it, is where I should be.
I’ll come back here today. But right now I’m going to work on a job application.
You biking much? The lakes are full and cool and clear. Nice after a little biking.

The four that are my favorite are The Lake-To-, Sonnet-To Science, Fairy-land, and of course The Raven.

Thats what i was forgetting. Card. At school Kristen tought me how to play Egyptian War. It’s easy once you learn it. I lost though.

Good morning. I was headed for a cold shower when I thought to come here looking for you.
Poe. The Telltale Heart – I remember that story. The Raven – that poem is often quoted. Poe is definitely up your alley, shadowwitch; he’s got a dark view of the world.
Name some poems and I’ll look for them.
Eight hundred and nineteen pages? What in the world? How do you hold a book that big?
I’ve been reading, too. Book after book. On dark stuff, as a matter of fact. Control. Anger. Abuse. Etc.
Yesterday evening a fellow said something to me about dreams. Take it or leave it. He said, “You are every person in your dream.” Somebody had told him that.
So, if it’s an idea that’s good, then in your dream, when Mimi said, “Call me” it was you saying “Call me”, it was you reminding yourself to be careful, reminding yourself to check-in with everyone who you want to watch over you.
Dreams, I’ve been told, are the way we, and even animals, prepare for the challenges of the waking world. So, as your dad, it’s nice to hear that you’re not having lots and lots of dreams, because that makes me think your life isn’t overwhelming you with challenges.
Feelings. Weren’t we working on feeling words? I’ve got some new info there. I’ve got a feeling wheel that breaks out the basic feeling words into more refined, more precise feeling words. I’ll have to post it some other time.
I woke up thinking, “Ellen should take some playing cards to camp.” Somebody at camp is bound to know some new game.
    Time for a shower.
